Tqīn → qǐn — the tone tips
Under a roof (宀), the sleeping chamber, and inside it a broom (帚) — the swept bedroom. The old graph carries two tellings of the right element: 㑴 qīn lending the sound, the tone tipped to qǐn; or the whole written straight as meaning — a hand sweeping out the room you sleep in. From the chamber, the act done there: to lie down, to sleep — 就寢、寢室.
