畢形a long-handled hunting net — the net up top, the handle running down throughthe net and frame wore into 田 over 十 — no longer a readable net
The whole graph drew a long-handled net for catching birds and small game: the meshwork up top, the handle running straight down. The hunt ends when the net comes down full, so 畢 came to mean to finish — 畢業 (graduate), 完畢 (done) — and from "all caught" the sense entirely, all: 畢竟、原形畢露. The net and its frame wore down into 田 over a stem; the original tool is no longer visible.
