疒義a person laid on a bedthe bed drawn stood on end, the body flat against it
Tbǐng → bìng — only the tone bends
A body laid out on the bed (疒 — the bed stood upright in the graph, the sick man flat against it). 丙 gives the sound, tone bent to bìng. 說文 keeps a grade: 疾 is illness, 病 is illness grown heavy.
