Tzhǔ → zhù — the tone shifts, the sound holds
Words (言) with 主 zhǔ for the sound, only the tone shifting. You pour explaining words alongside a text — to annotate, to note down: 註解、註明、註冊. It is the speech-side twin of 注, which pours water.
