丑聲chǒu — gives the sounda hand with the fingers gripping
IFchǒu → niǔ — the metal-knob version took its own sound
說文 reads it 印鼻——the little nose on a seal you grip to lift it. Metal (金) sets the material; 丑 chǒu, a gripping hand, carries the sound, worn to niǔ. From the seal-knob comes the button (鈕扣) and the handle (門鈕).
